Yeah, let’s “spend” some money on tax cuts!

What’s the difference between a million,  a billion and a trillion?

To put it in perspective: A million seconds adds up to about 11 days. A billion seconds? 32 years!! A trillion seconds? We’re talking dinosaurs people.

Ok, I’ve been sitting on the sidelines for three weeks and I’m supposed to be part of WordPress‘s Post a week. Well, it only took Paul Krugman‘s Sunday column to get me off my arse and start typing.

I wouldn’t even read this a$$holes’ column if it weren’t important enough to stay savvy on how liberals think and how they’re destroying this country. Fortunately, Sunday’s column is balanced (if you want to call it that) by Charles Krauthammer on the right hand side of the paper. Krauthammer, in my opinion, kicks Krugman’s ass week in and week out.

Getting to this Sunday’s espousal, Krugman is his usual self; ripping Republicans in the House, especially Paul Ryan and his proposed budget plan. Ryan’s plan, in my opinion, is a clear path to eliminating the nations debt, which Krugman believes is not detrimental to the health of the economy and the nation. He thinks a 13 trillion (there’s that word again) dollar debt  and 4 trillion dollar deficits are ok, and that we didn’t spend enough to “stimulate” the economy two years ago. How this guy is taken seriously is mind-blowing. But then again, he’s a New York Times columnist.

First, let’s get to this notion that Tax Cuts require additional spending. I’ve been harping on this for years now; since when do tax cuts have to be “paid” for? I keep hearing democrats echo the phrase “a trillion dollars in Bush tax cuts for the rich that weren’t paid for” WHAT???!!!! This is typical bloviating by the democrats we’ve been listening to for years. THEY THINK THE MONEY IS THEIRS!!!!!!!!  What liberals don’t understand is that any money that the federal government rakes in is from wealth that is CREATED by us regular americans out here working for it. It may be printed in Washington D.C. but in actuality, it is OURS, not theirs. Democrats seem to think that any success we acquire is because they allow it, when in fact, it’s the exact opposite. This is typical socialist philosophy.

The bottom line is: If there are tax cuts, such as the Bush tax cuts (remember 3% unemployment, real estate boom, stock market at record levels, work up the ying yang), then the government has a responsibility to SPEND less. Just as we’d do at home in our budgets: If there is no more overtime at work, and you’re bringing in less each week, then you make cuts in your budget. If you can’t go to the movies that week, then you can’t go, period. You don’t look for other ways to pay for it. You don’t borrow the money from your neighbor (the Chinese) with no way to pay it back. The federal government doesn’t think like this, and we need people in Washington that will.

Second, Krugman echoes the sentiment that Republicans are meanies that want to “savagely cut aid to the needy and the uninsured”. This is the fear mongering that will ultimately destroy liberals and the democratic party. American’s aren’t buying this nonsense anymore. The Ryan plan does nothing to hurt seniors, the needy, and the uninsured, in fact those who ar 55 an older would not be affected in any way whatsoever. The truth of the matter is that Ryans’ plan balances the budget by 2030 without raising taxes and by reducing federal spending by 6 trillion dollars over the next 10 years.

We need to restore fiscal sanity if we are to survive as a nation. It wasn’t long ago when the word “trillion” was only a figment of our imagination, a fantasy word; never mentioned among presidents, politicians, and pundits. Now it’s a part of their everyday conversation; the word “trillion” has replaced “billion”. Remember when the word “billion” scared you? And the truth of the matter is it’s not just 1 trillion, it’s 13 trillion. That’s 13,000,000,000,000. We’re talking Einstein, astronomy, and big-bang stuff here people. Let’s eliminate it from Washington D.C.’s vocabulary.
